VENDING

I would like to be a new-parts/services vendor (not swap-meet).
Please contact Cory Sterling directly.

I would like to bring used parts for the swap-meet.
Pay $40 and swap/sell used parts from your basement, bedroom, attic, garages all weekend long.    NOTE:  New tuning parts, larger-quantity used-parts vendors, clothing, lifestyle items all fall under “Vendors of new parts” and will be charged a ‘sponsor’/vendor fee.  You do not qualify for the special rate.

Does my swap meet cost cover both Saturday & Sunday?
Yes.  $40 all weekend.

What’s the latest that vendors may set up?
We’re politely asking for vendors to arrive Saturday and Sunday around 8:30 a.m.

May we request that another vendor be next to us?
We will not leave an empty space next to you so you can wait for another vendor to arrive. We do not put a hold on nor assign spaces ahead of time. Coordinate ahead of time and show up together.

How many vendor cars are permitted per booth?
Two max. Additional cars will cost you extra.

Can vendor booth cars be judged?
Yes. Fill out a form at the registration booth to be judged.

SHOWING OFF & STARING AT VAG

Even though I registered online for Sunday, do I still have to pay $10 if I want to drive in and hang out Saturday?
Yes, $10 per person (car included) is only for Saturday. Kids under 13 are free. Online registration is available for both days.

When do the gates open?
Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

How will I get in?
We’re at the York Fairgrounds. The Carlisle Avenue (Route 74) fancy front gate and one Highland Avenue gate on the western end of the grounds will be open. Be courteous as lanes form.

I already registered online to show or spectate. Do I have to go somewhere special first?
Go with the flow and pull up to the gate crew with cash. If you paid online, you must have either print outs or evidence of your PayPal receipt(s) AND your PHOTO ID ready.

May I move my car to another spot during the show?
Do not register to be judged and then want to move your car.  You registered in a row so we can find you easily.  If we can’t find you, we reserve the right to not bothering to judge your car.  Do not move your car.  Plain and simple.

I have a show car and have to leave.  Can I come back to park in the show field?
We will not allow show cars to leave and return into the main show field in the middle of Sunday’s judging.

Have someone who is not showing a car be the one to run and get the stuff you need during the day.
If you leave with your car after 12pm and want to re-enter, you will end up being directed to park with the spectators.

May I save spots nearby for friends and their show cars?
No. We have to keep the entry flow moving, so no space saving will be permitted. Do not argue with the parking staff over saving spaces.

What if I’m not showing a car on Sunday?
You’ll be directed to park in spectator parking.

What if I’m parking my car as a guest at a vendor booth?
You’ll need to still pay for you and your car. $10 on Saturday and $30 on Sunday. No refunds.

Can vendor booth cars be judged?
Go for it! Fill out a form at the registration booth to be judged.

What does it cost to show a car if I just show up Sunday?
$30 per car w/driver. Each passenger will still have to pay $10. No refunds.

Ah take care of mah kids.
If you bring them, and they’re under 13, they get in FREE!

VEHICLES

What are the show classes?
Consult the Classes portion of our website.

Which brands of cars are permitted to be judged on Sunday?
We prefer European brands. Main classes are VW (including air-cooled) and Audi.

Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, JDM, and others will have their own classes.

SOUVENIRS, NOVELTIES, PARTY TRICKS

My old shirts have pit-stains. What fer shirts are there?
COMING SOON

Auctions? I have a wad of cash, and I want cool stuff.
Sunday afternoon we will be auctioning off all kinds of things! Spag will be your auctioneer. We will save some surprises.

YEAH, AND…

Will there be food?
Yep, we have a food court. Bricker’s Famous Fries, milkshakes, juices, who knows.

May I bring my dog(s)?
Absolutely. Clean up their poo, fool.

I like s’mores a lot. How about a grill during the show?
Yes– but mind your fires. Fires must be contained in some type of manufactured grille. Do not make an impromptu fire on the ground. Do not dump hot charcoal in trash cans either.

I usually let my teachers and parents clean up my messes.
Clean up after yourself for once in your sorry life. Do not leave trash, broken chairs, or car parts in the grass. Take a few steps to the nearest trash can.

Much like the rest of my friends, I like to drink. Can I bring alcohol?
”Local authorities” will be watching your behavior. Understand that if you are ratted out or we find out on our own that you are under 21 and even try to drink or buy a drink at our show, we will make your life miserable. You must have a valid ID.

Will I be asked to leave if I have a concealed or non-concealed weapon on me?
Yes. Private show, so it’s our policy to forbid guns.

What else can’t I bring or do?
No throwing rocks onto lanes of travel. No getting in peoples’ way playing ‘Pokemon Go’. No burnouts. No drifting. No drugs. No nudity. No bad attitudes. No walking around peddling parts.

I am underage and am, like, so ready to like, party, and because of my unstructured life I do what I want, yo.

I couldn’t sleep, so I found out while browsing Wikipedia, that the weekend of VAG Fair, August 6 and August 7 , is fairly historically significant.
Correct, and it’s also right around Cory Sterling’s birthday! Celebrate with us! Beer makes an ideal gift.

CAMPING

May we camp out?
No. Camping is not allowed on the York Fairgrounds.  Their rule, not ours.

HOTELS

I’m looking to party at a hotel, since it’s not *my* house.
The VAG Fair does not support or encourage any disrespectful, disruptive, destructive behaviors of hotel guests nor visitors to any hotel property. Why do we even have to say this to you? We do support our local police.

Where are the hotels around the VAG Fair?
There are numerous hotels and new ones being built all the time around York and the western side of York.

You jerks didn’t answer my question(s).

We recommend our Facebook page and asking there.  Or please email us:  thevagfair@gmail.com
